deserving students whose parents work in the timber industry. Then General Manager Don

goals during his tenure. In recognition of his efforts, the scholarship fund was renamed
the "Don Bell Alaska Loggers Scholarship Fund" in 1996. Over the past 30 years,
the program has awarded more than $76,000 in academic scholarships in memory of deceased
AFA members, assisting more than 64 Alaska students pursue post secondary educations
The Alaska Forest Association will award several scholarships in 2000. The object of these
scholarships is to assist the recipients in getting a post secondary education. Previous

eligible to apply and may be awarded one of these scholarships. One of the scholarships
may go to a graduating senior who is entering a vocational or technical school. Favorable
